Sick Building Syndrome & Building Related Illness
These two terms are well described in EPA publication and deal with situations where occupants feel discomfort or illness from time spent at home. In many cases removal of obvious pollutants and improved ventilation will resolve the problem.If you suspect that your office, house or apartment is chemically contaminated from an unknown source inside the house or from outside, we have tools and knowledge to answer your questions.
The most common tests that we conduct for Homeowners, Building Management companies and Real Estate clients are:
- Indoor Air Quality Parameters (IAQ) like Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Temperature and Humidity;
- Environmental Noise;
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) in air;
- Mold contamination of surfaces and airborne spores;
- Asbestos in suspect construction materials and asbestos fibres in air
- Asbestos in Attic Insulation (Vermiculite or “Zonolite”);
- Lead in paint and airborne dust;
- UFFI and Formaldehyde in air.
